8. Do thou, O Darbha, make me dear to Brāhman and Rājanya, dear to Sūdra, and to Arya dear, Yea, dear to every man we love, to every man with eyes to see. (Atharvaveda 19:32:8) Hello freinds! Today's topic is very serious. Many hinduphobic blogs like Vedkabhed again and again raise the topic of caste system. They say that the Vedic system of Varna was based on the individual birth of a person not his karma. Today we are going to answer these type of several questions. Caste was based on birth. There are several Hindu scriptures which claim that caste or varna was based on birth not nature or karma. Apastamba Dharma Shastra 1.1.1.4-5 [Th...

Widow remarriage and Sati

This blog is dedicated to expose the lies regarding sati pratha and to prove that sati is not a tradition in Hinduism. Hinduphobics are spreading that Hindu women had to jump in fire. But in scriptures three ways are prescribed for widows. Vidhwavrata Punarvivah Pativrata Pativrata Who is a pativrata? Let's see in scriptures. Brahma Vaivarta Purana Krishna Janma Kanda 83. 120-126 “A chaste woman redeems thousand of her generations. The husband of a chaste woman is relieved of all sins. Because of the performance of the chaste woman, her husband’s sins are washed away. The merit a mendicant achieves by performing Tapas, performing Vratas, fasting by the ascetics and giving away of the charity by donors, the same merit is always achieved by the chaste woman. This is why even lord Narayana, Shiva, Brahma, all other gods and sages are afraid of a chaste woman. With the dust of the feet of the chaste woman, the earth gets purified and by offering salutations to a chaste woman, oen is r...

Importance of Women in Vedic scriptures

Image
Hello readers! In this blog we will discuss about the condition of women in Vedic period and scriptures. Today many people and sites like truth about Hinduism points some verses of our scripture and spread wrong message through it. I will also respond to them. But in this blog I will discuss only those verses which talks about the importance of women. Birth of Girls Brihadarankya Upanishad 6:4:17   Yajur Veda 22.22 “O Brahman, may here be born in the kingdom, the Brahmin illustrious for poetic knowledge; let there be born the Rajanya, heroic, skilled archer, piercing with shafts, mighty warrior; the cow giving abundant milk; the ox good at carrying ; the swift courser; the industrious woman . May Parjanya send rain according to our desire; may our fruit-bearing plants ripen; may acquisition and preservation of property be secured to us.” Atharvaved 10:3:20 :- As glory dwelleth in a maid, and in this well-constructed car.  Asvalayana Grihya Sutra 1.2.1-5...

Response to Vedkabhed on women in vedas

This entire article is my answers and responses to a WordPress blog titled Vedkabhed, which contains an article “Women in Hinduism” Preference of son over daughter : He began his article by writing son is called Putra in Sanskrit which means one who saves from the hell called put for which I have no problem in accepting, but I have problem in accepting his definition of Duhita which means daughter. He said it means one who does bad. However, that is not the case. Nirukta 3.4 “The husband admits the daughter’s right to be appointed as a son, with regard to the discharge to the duties of the offspring. A daughter is so called because it is difficult to arrange for her welfare or she fares well at distance or the word duhita may be derived from the root duh, which means to milk.” But if we go by the definition of the Linga Purana on the word “Putri” , the even daughter too can save one from hell. Because in Linga Purana 5.30-33 Brahma interprets the term Putri as “one who save...
